CIMENTO®, which is a brand of SAI Industry, leading company in designin and development of tailor made furnitures, offers innovative concrete products dedicated to architects, retail, hotellerie and contract field. The brand debut at Milano Design Week 2019, was the ideal occasion to present,at INTERNI Humans Spaces Milan University of Studies (8-19 Aprile 2019), the amazing installation “The Blue Passage” entirely realized with CIMENTO® panels and designed by Parisotto+Formenton Architetti.
The installation is conceived as a double-mouthed tunnel, open to the outside and choked in the center, conceived as a resting place, a restorative break in the chaos of contemporary hyper-stress. It looks like an updated version of a primordial, entirely monometric cavern, in CIMENTO® – a compound that uses over 90% mineral aggregates mixed with a cement binder: it is a quiet room, a symbolic place, where you can enjoy relaxation in solitude or share with others a compensation break. Closed and open at the same time, this light but solid architecture plays with the senses and perceptions of the visitor, delicately stimulated through four different keys: the textures imperfection; the grey color for external skin and the blue for interior surfaces; the play of perspectives and the sound of the sea, a paradigm of the infinite dimension of nature, brought back to a human dimension.
Inside“The Blue Passage” installation,in absolute preview, the sculptural and material furnishing (benches, seats, tables and coffee tables) of the new Cimento Collection by CIMENTO®born under the art direction of Aldo Parisotto, which transforms the in-depth experience of CIMENTO® of matter, textures and colors into three-dimensional and sculptural forms. The result is a family of interior and exterior furniture which stands out for its strong sense of material and monolithic character, composed of powerful yet light elements.
The color palettes, studied for the collection of furnishing objects, designed by the duo Parisotto+Formenton, are inspired by the natural colors linked to highly suggestive places and concepts such as the Venetian lagoon, the Adriatic sea, the spice route, the suggestive Orient. Light blue, green, mustard yellow, red are produced in different nuances and calibrated in different levels of saturation and intensity – more dusty or brighter- to better demonstrate the expressive potential of the material.
